Few things are more frustrating than watching ad spend tick up while sales stay flat. The good news is that the cause is almost always one of five fixable problems. Work through them in order.
1. Your offer is not clear
If someone cannot tell within seconds who the course is for and what result it delivers, they scroll on. Before blaming the ads, make sure your offer promises one specific outcome to one specific person. Vague offers never convert, no matter how good the targeting.
2. You are reaching the wrong people
Great creative shown to the wrong audience will not sell. If you are spending mostly on cold strangers, try shifting budget to people who already know you. Warm audiences convert far better and tell you quickly whether the offer itself is the problem.
3. Your creative is not stopping the scroll
People decide in a heartbeat whether to keep watching. If your ad looks like an ad, it gets ignored. Real, relatable video of you talking to the camera, or a genuine student win, almost always beats a polished graphic. Test several angles instead of betting everything on one.
4. Your funnel is leaking
Sometimes the ad is doing its job and the sales page is not. If people click but do not buy, the problem has moved past the ad. Read your page as a stranger would. Is the promise clear? Is there proof? Is the next step obvious? A small fix here often unlocks the whole campaign.
5. You have not given it enough time
Ads need data before they perform. Judging a campaign after one quiet day is like weighing yourself hourly. Give it time to gather results and look at the trend across days, not the panic of a single afternoon.
When ads are not working, resist the urge to change everything at once. Find the one weak link and fix it.
Check your tracking too
Finally, make sure sales are actually being recorded. More than one course creator has thought their ads failed when really the tracking was broken and the sales were there all along. Confirm your pixel and your checkout are talking to each other before you make any big calls.
